March 10, 2020 - Coronavirus COVID-19 has become a significant public health concern. There is a renewed focus and an urgent need to develop effective diagnostic assays, anti-viral drugs and first-line, therapies and vaccines. To develop these vitally important clinical tools, the research, drug development and vaccine development communities need the reagents used to propagate the viruses and perform the in vitro models of viral infections. Since 2002, Athena has been supplying the academic and commercial scientific communities with the serum-free culture media used to cultivate the human and mammalian cells that are sensitive to coronaviruses as well as influenza, rhinovirus and related respiratory viruses.
